France: Libraries switch off wi-fi internet
Four libraries in Paris have turned off their wi-fi internet connections after staff claimed they were causing health problems. The latest to shut down its wireless network is the wireless Sainte-Genevieve university library in the 5th arrondissement after a member of staff threatened to take early retirement on health grounds..."

Canada: Cellphones and kids

"Some preliminary studies suggest that people who use cellphones for long periods are at greater risk of developing brain tumours. And children, with their thinner skulls and developing nervous systems, may be at greater risk than adults. Furthermore, because children today have begun using cellphones at an earlier age than previous generations, their exposure will be far greater over their lifetimes. The cellphone industry hotly disputes these findings. But the Toronto Board of Health is taking a precautionary stand and urging parents to limit their children's use of cellphones to essential purposes, to restrict the length of their calls and to have them use headsets..."

US: What do brain surgeons know about cellphone safety that the rest of us don't?

UK: Mobile phone radiation wrecks your sleep
"...The research, sponsored by the mobile phone companies themselves, shows that using the handsets before bed causes people to take longer to reach the deeper stages of sleep and to spend less time in them, interfering with the body's ability to repair damage suffered during the day. The findings are especially alarming for children and teenagers, most of whom surveys suggest use their phones late at night and who especially need sleep. Their failure to get enough can lead to mood and personality changes, ADHD-like symptoms, depression, lack of concentration and poor academic performance. ..."

Portable classroom Mold worries parents (Nashville)
Parents said they are worried about a potential health hazard caused by mold in some of the county's portable classrooms. The portable classrooms were brought into use about 20 years ago as a temporary fix to relieve overcrowding.

New Task Contract Awarded for Temporary Housing
FEMA has awarded a contract to TL Industries of Elkhart, Indiana to provide two-bedroom, park model temporary housing units. The new procurement specifications for indoor air quality include a requirement that formaldehyde emission levels must be significantly reduced inside the units.
